Currency: The unit of currency is the Kuwaiti Dinar(KD). Currency comes in denominations of KD twenty, ten, five, one, half and one-quarter. Coins are available in denominations of 500, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 fils. Currencies can be exchanged at hotels, banks, foreign exchange bureaus and at the airport. Many establishments in Kuwait accept major international credit cards.
Local newspapers print the prevailing exchange rate daily.
Geography : Kuwait covers an area of approximately 17,820 square kilometers with a population of over 2.2 million. There are nine offshore islands. Most of the mainland is a flat sandy desert gradually sloping towards sea level in the east. Coarse grass grows in the desert most of the year. Majority of the people live in the bay of the capital, but smaller communities are also located from the east on the islands and towards the south.
Weather: Kuwait is blessed with sunshine and warm weather throughout the entire year. A short but enjoyable spring from February to May brings cool and warm weather that sets the public parks in bloom and more tourists to visit Kuwait. During the summer months of May to September the weather is rather hot and dry with temperature ranging from 35-45 degree celsius. Despite of Kuwait’s hot summers, the country is equipped with the most efficient cooling system in all the buildings and means of transport. Autumn, from September until mid-November, is characterized by moderate weather. Winter, from December to February, sees perfectly warm days but chilly evenings with occasional mild rain showers.
Language : Arabic is the official language. However, English is widely spoken in banks, offices, restaurants and stores.
Time : Kuwait is in the GMT +3 time zone.
Workweek : The standard workweek is from Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and saturday making up the weekend.
Entry Requirements:
Visas are required by all visitors except GCC nationals (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar)Nationals of Australia, Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, Japan, Lechtein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Netherland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States Of America and Vatican City can obtain visas on arrival for business and tourist-related stays. Other nationals can obtain a visa from any Kuwaiti embassy, consulate or hotels. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months when applying for visas.

Customs:
Pork and alchol are illegal in Kuwait. There are no precincts on drugs until it is carried with legible doctor's prescription. Any country currency or valuable metals are allowed during entering or leaving.
